If you live in the Cape Town Central City or its immediate surrounds, the Cape Town Central City Improvement District (CCID) wants to hear what you think about life in South Africa’s oldest CBD. Plus, by completing the survey, you stand a chance to win one of three cash prizes.
This is the fourth year the CCID is running this survey, and the results are always very interesting (click here to see the 2015 trends).
Says CCID CEO Tasso Evangelinos: “The residents who live in the Cape Town CBD are vital to making it vibrant and people focused, and we want to hear your voices: what do you love – or hate – about living here? Who are you? What do you do for a living? Where do you go afterhours? Do you have children? Or perhaps you have pets. How can we assist to make this ‘downtown’ a better ‘hometown’ for you?”
At the heart of the area being surveyed is the downtown in which the Cape Town Central City Improvement District (CCID) operates and provides top-up safety and security, urban management and social development services, in addition to those of its primary service providers at the City of Cape Town and SAPS.
CCID chairperson Rob Kane explains further: “As the CCID, we also promote investment into this area to make it a live, work, play and stay destination for all to enjoy, and to attract the types of businesses that residents who live here would like to see.
“So, if you live in one of the areas we’re looking to survey, we’d be grateful if you could take a few minutes to complete the questionnaire. We estimate that it will take about 10 to 15 minutes of your time.”
If there are any questions you don’t feel comfortable answering, just leave them blank, says Evangelinos: “You’ll also get an opportunity at the end of the survey to add your own comments on any topics you feel weren't covered by the questions.”
By giving the CCID input on the Cape Town Central City’s residential environment all participants will also be given the chance to win one of three cash prizes in a draw:
- First prize: R1 500
- Second prize: R1 000
- Third prize: R500
With the survey closing on 10 November 2016, the names of winners will be announced in the summer issue of the CCID’s City Views newspaper (available on the streets from 9 December 2016 and online at www.capetownccid.org/about-ccid/publications/City-Views/60).
